The library is a very great support for teaching and research. That is why the Kigali Independent University strives to boost up the libraries of Kigali and Gisenyi Campuses both in quality as well as in quantity, by providing the libraries with qualified personnel and by purchasing regularly and continuously multiple books. As of today, the Kigali campus library has more than 58,000 volumes and the one of Gisenyi campus has more than 25,000 Volumes.

A part from books and journals, the library also holds CD-ROM containing thousands of titles. Our books acquisition originates mainly from purchasing and also from donations by people and organizations of good will.

Time table of service

ULK Library is opened from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 9:30pm. During the week -end (Saturday and Sunday), the library is opened from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

The Library is accessed by :

  All ULK students, Lecturers and Staff
  All students, lecturers from other institutions
  Other Users

Requirements to use the Library:

  For ULK students, Library requires a student card or an identity card
  For students from other institutions, ULK /Library asks identity card and recommendation from his/her institution
  For ther users, ULK/Library requires identity card
