The establishment and the development of an educational and teaching project of the University level is a hard and costly task. Nonetheless, given the necessity and emergency to train human resources tremendously needed by the country after the 1994 tragedy, it is imperious, even compulsory to carry out with this educational project despite difficulties. ULK financing comes from its Promoter and the students’ academic fees, which are modest, given the very limited financial means of students.

The total amount to be paid for registration is of twenty seven thousand Rwandan francs (RWF 27,000, equivalent to 45 US $). These fees are not refundable.

Tuition fees are as follows:

• One hundred and thirty thousand francs (RWF 130,000, equivalent to US $ 207) per term for day section students, into the following faculties: Economics and Business Studies; Social Sciences as well as Law;

• One hundred and fifty thousand francs (RWF 150,000, equivalent to US $ 240) per term for evening section students, into the following faculties: Economics and Business Studies; Social Sciences as well as Law;

• Two hundred thousand francs (RWF 200,000, equivalent to 320 US $) per term for evening section students, into the faculty of Science and Technology;

• Two hundred and twenty thousand francs (RWF 220,000, equivalent to 351 US $) per term for evening section students, into the faculty of Science and Technology;

• At the end of the fourth Academic Year every student pays for the Dissertation. The amount is (RWF 160,000, equivalent to 256 US $ );

Despite the modesty of the academic fees and financial constraints, ULK keeps on extending its buildings, diversifying and broadening its equipments; and assuming regularly its entire staff’s wages and salaries.
