From its inception, ULK has laid a rigorous emphasis on recruiting the teaching staff.
Article 39 of ULK regulations provides that each member of the Teaching Staff is evaluated functional to:
 His/her scientific competence (perfect command of the content of the course);
His/her pedagogical competence (perfect command of the content of the course);
His/her moral qualities (devotion, integrity, objectivity, application to the training and education of students, etc).
Article 42 of the same Regulation States the following: “Academic requirements and degrees are the same as those pertaining to the best Universities of the World".
ULK recruits among the holders of the following academic degrees:
1. Assistant-lecturer: License or Diploma in Medicine with grade distinction;
2. Lecturer : 4 years of seniority as an assistant-lecturer with two scientific publications or a Master’s degree or its equivalent;
3. Senior lecturer: Doctor by thesis;
4. Associate professor : 4 years of seniority as a senior lecturer with 4 scientific publications;
5. Professor: 4 years of seniority as associate professor with 4 scientific publications.
